Guidance for SMEs
Does your business qualify as a micro, small or medium sized enterprise (“SME”) under the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2013 (Section 48) (Lending to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises) Regulations 2015 (the “SME Regulations”)? If so, then your business is entitled to a wide-range of protections afforded by that legislation including in respect of applications for credit and/or in circumstances where your business is in financial difficulties. An SME is an enterprise which employs fewer than 250 persons and has an annual turnover not exceeding €50 million and/or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding €43 million. A copy of the SME Regulations can be found on the Central Bank’s website www.centralbank.ie.

From time to time our SME customers may experience financial difficulties, cash flow problems or other circumstances which may affect their ability to repay us.
